Our Animals

Foxy and Squirmy arrived at the farm in February 2022 at just 2 months old. Although they were bred for meat, these brothers will live out their natural lives chowing down on pasture grass, grubs, "cereal," and fruits and vegetables. Their favorites foods are oranges and bananas. 

These feline fellows were rescued from a hoarding case in September 2021. Owing to the neglect they experienced early in life, they like to keep their distance from visitors, but they are often spotted gawking at visitors from the hayloft of the barn or relaxing on a bench at twilight. 

Rose the rehomed rooster came to us when a friend when one of her "hens" began to crow. Since he wasn't quite suited for town life, he joined out flock on the farm.  Since his arrival, he has restored peace to an often quibbling coop. Bonus: we no longer need to set alarm clocks in the morning to wake us for our morning chores.

Bert and Betty Lou were rescued in summer 2024 by Rocky Top Rescue in Tennessee when their elderly owner could no longer provide adequate care or space for these two lovebirds and their four puppies. With an innate desire to guard animals, these nocturnal livestock guardian dogs patrol the paddocks all night long. When you visit, they may wake from their daytime slumber for a hug or scratch on the head.

These sisters were the result of a breeding program, but due to some physical impairments, were unfit for breeding. They will live out their natural lives trotting through the fields at the farm, grazing on grass, and getting loved on by farm friends. Prancy and Mississippi are gentle and affectionate, and love a hug or scratch on the behind. 

Frannie (AKA "Mama Goat") and her daughters were rehomed from a farm whose herd outgrew their space. Our resident escape artists often visit our farm classes in search of a head scratch, hug, or snack. We have embraced their desire to roam and graze and allow them to free-range throughout the farm when its safe to do so, so please drive slowly and never allow your child to pick up anything that looks like raisinets! 

Born on Valentine's Day 2023, Poppy and Avocado eagerly greet visitors who arrive at the farm. They love hand-picked clover flowers, dandelions, and native plantain leaves.
